Summer JustGuide – Part II – Where to Party and Meet Beautiful People

There are two summer events in NY that you truly shouldn’t miss. One of these are Sunset parties at what is so far my favorite club here: Le Bain inside Standard Hotel at High Line. They usually start at 7 PM (3 PM on Fridays and 5t PM on Sundays). On the weekends there’s a DJ right after the the party finishes. Le Bain is my favorite place because, apart from great DJs, it also spots a jacuzzi right next to its dance floor (I never used it so far, since I don’t toil putting on my make-up to ruin it all in a single dip), as well as a great rooftop, which gives you a stunning view of Lower Manhattan and the Hudson river on one side, and Empire State Building on the other. The only (if crucial) problem with this place is the selection. It’s hard to say what are the bouncers’ criteria, but generally the better you look the bigger your chance of getting in. Women have a head start, although that’s not always the case – I do know the bitter taste of humiliation after hearing the sentence: “Sorry, guest list only”. A piece of advice: the sooner you come the better chance you stand. One clear advantage is lack of entrance fee (even though a Jameson is $12).

The second event is the Warm Up party at MoMA PS1, which I already described at JustLikeNY (check it out here). It starts this Saturday and goes on till 9 September. They last from 3 PM till 9 PM. I can’t wait to be thrilled again the way I was last year.

What do these two events have in common? It’s simple: good music, dance and beautiful people. Which is basically all I need in life, especially in the summer.
